Get your Orkneycommunities Charity Calendars now, as last posting dates for Christmas are looming, with 23rd November being the last posting date for surface mail to Western Europe. All other international destinations for surface mail, it's too late already.
Fortunately we're using airmail, so for Eastern Europe the date is 10th December, and for Western Europe, the 13th.
For posting to the UK, the dates are the 15th December for Standard Parcels, 18th December for 2nd Class and 21st December for 1st Class.
The Orkneycommunities Charity Calendar for 2011 can now be purchased online, and sent directly to your door, assuming your door has a letterbox, and that letterbox is within Europe. It can also be purchased in shops and businesses around Orkney.
You can find out all about it, and also about outlets in shops and businesses in Orkney, by clicking this link.
A video walkthough of the calendar is shown above, and is also in our In Pictures section.
Featuring pictures and comments from the Orkney Image Library on www.orkneycommunities.co.uk, the calendar has been produced to raise money for local cancer charities. All proceeds will go to Macmillan, CLIC Sargent, and CLAN, so if you buy one as a gift you are giving twice.
The calendar is produced in full colour on high quality paper, with each month having space for notes, and moon phases and school holidays marked.
More than just a calendar, the pictures are brought to life by their comments and the fascinating information therein, and you can go online and add more if your memory is jogged.
If you wish to buy one locally, they are stocked in Wm Shearers (currently with the other calendars through the back, soon to move upstairs to the Christmas Shop), Bruces Stores (on the newspaper stand), CLAN, Lows Orkney, WR Tullock, Nimms, Eccles Insurance, Rendall Furnishings, VAO, Papdale Stores, Stromness Golf Club, The Quernstone, The Pier Arts Centre, The Mart, and the Holm, Deerness and Toab shops.
