Work is underway at 31-33 Victoria Street to convert the former Sutherland the Chemists shop into an Italian restuarant and dwelling unit. Planning permission for the changes was granted in March of this year, with the property selling for almost £200,000 in May.

The extensive building works will see a new main entrance appear in the middle of the building's Victoria Street frontage, with the boarded up area to the right becoming a large window opening up into the main dining area.
The new restuarant is to be called Caffe Lucano, and is planned to accommodate more than 60 diners. Documents related to the planning application can be inspected online at the Council's e-planning website.
